Birmingham Assay Office has launched Assay Hub, a dedicated workspace for professionals in the Jewellery Quarter.
The facility is designed to provide gemmologists, valuers, and specialists with a communal office environment and access to technical verification equipment.
The hub offers screening tools that are frequently too expensive for independent practitioners to purchase.
Membership tiers include pay-as-you-go, part-time, and full-time options, with costs starting at £50.
Facilities at the site include professional workspaces, meeting rooms, and access to gemmological reports.
The office stated that the initiative is intended to support independent working by providing a central base for client meetings and peer consultation within the trade.
The Birmingham Assay Office said: “The Jewellery Quarter has always been more than a place to work. It was built on shared expertise and continues to thrive as a centre of industry knowledge. Assay Hub has been created to offer a professional setting where gemmologists, valuers, and jewellery specialists can work alongside one another.
“With flexible options, Assay Hub allows members to access the sense of community that defines the Jewellery Quarter in a way that supports modern, independent working.”
